梅雨

雨の日には、庭の芝生を裸足で歩くのも楽しみの一つです。小雨が降る中を歩くこともあれば、雨と雨の合間を歩くこともあります。こちらの雨は温かいので、とても心地よく感じます。エストニアでも暖かい雨が降ることはありますが、四国ほど頻繁ではありません。そんな何気ないひとときの中で、五感すべてを使って季節を味わえることに、深い喜びを感じます。
今は祖国から何千キロも離れた場所で暮らしていますが、それでもここにはどこか懐かしい「家」のような安心感があります。エストニアでも6月は比較的雨の多い月です。ただ、雨が降ると気温は下がり、湿度も日本ほど高くはありません。エストニアでは6月を「雨季」と呼ぶことはありませんが、実際には思っているほど大きな違いはないのかもしれません。もしかすると、エストニアも「雨のための第五の季節」を宣言してもいいのではないでしょうか。
The Rainy Season

On rainy days, I enjoy walking barefoot on the grass in my garden. Sometimes during a gentle shower, sometimes between rainstorms. It is a wonderful feeling because the rain here is warm. We occasionally have warm rain in Estonia as well, but much less frequently than in Shikoku. There is something deeply pleasant and simple about these moments, allowing me to experience the season through all my senses.
Although I currently live thousands of kilometers away from my homeland, I still feel a familiar sense of home here. June is also a rather rainy month in Estonia. The difference is that Estonian rain usually brings cooler weather and far less humidity. We do not call June a rainy season in Estonia, yet sometimes I feel the difference is not as great as one might think. Perhaps Estonia should also declare a fifth season dedicated to rain.
