Documentary films have the power to present “the ordinary” as extraordinary.
A Fresh Perspective was created to see how my thoughts about the social sciences and film theory could collide to create a visual piece. Working on this project also allowed me to gain a new appreciation for how natural landscapes exist and motivated me to think deeply about how natural landscapes provide for those who care for them.
If you are reading this and you are a resident of Tosa-Cho or you reside in the towns nearby, I hope watching A Fresh Perspective gives you the opportunity to see the beauty of the land around you through the eyes of a first-time resident. Hopefully you too will think of new and creative ways to experience and appreciate home…maybe you’ll write a story!
